The Huong diffuser is inspired by 3 Asian principles Japanese kōdō (香道), Vietnamese ancestor worship (Thờ cúng tổ tiên) and Chinese boshanlu (博山炉) Kōdō is about consciously perceiving and understanding scents. Like the tea ceremony (chanoyu) and flower arranging (ikebana), Kōdō is one of the classical Japanese cultural disciplines that integrates the senses, meditation and aesthetics. Kōdō is also combined with the tea ceremony to create a pleasant atmosphere before serving tea.

Ancestor worship is one of the most important and oldest spiritual customs in Vietnam. During the ritual, incense sticks are burned and the scent is believed to help the souls of the ancestors descend to the living. After lighting the incense sticks, people fold their hands in prayer and say silent prayers or gratitude. This ritual strengthens the connection between the past, present and future.

Boshanlu are incense burners in the shape of mystical mountains from ancient Asia, which symbolized the connection between the human world and the realm of the gods. They were also used in imperial palaces to scent the space, relax and meditate. Our diffuser connects ancient traditions with the modern world and celebrates the Czech tradition of glassmaking. It is a representation of the Panska Rock, located in Kamenický Šenov, one of the oldest glassmaking centres in Europe.

Instructions for use of the Huong aroma lamp

Pour aroma essence or water with aroma oil into the bottom of the object, up to a maximum of two-thirds of the volume. Then cover the top and insert the wooden sticks. To increase the intensity of the scent, you can turn the sticks upside down, which will improve the suction and make the scent more pronounced.
